This is Ken's first children's book to be published. Ken's family home burnt down when he was 6 years old, making fire safety deeply personal and important to him.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia on December 12, 1964, Ken's journey has been one of remarkable resilience and self-discovery. Despite facing challenges including bullying that interrupted his education, Ken never gave up on himself.
After losing his mother and first wife to breast cancer in 1997, Ken found a new beginning in 2012 at age forty-eight when he walked through the doors of Parkdale Project Read in Toronto, Ontario.
Ken completed his upgrading and earned a grade twelve equivalent through the Ace Program at George Brown College, finishing at the top of his class. His true passion emerged in Creative Writing, where he discovered the power to express himself and touch people's hearts.
Ken won a scholarship from George Brown College for his Creative Writing. It is his hope that Chuck the Fire Truck will touch many people as well—this is Ken's gift to the community.
